Go Green, Change the World

Hey teens!! How can you Go Green & Change the World?

  • Recycle just one plastic bottle and you will save enough energy to power a 60-watt lightbulb for 6 hours. (Wow!)
  • Plastic water bottles take THOUSANDS of years to decompose, so buy a reusable beverage container and fill it with tap water. An extra benefit is that the EPA's standards for tap water are more stringent than the FDA's standards for bottled water. (Amazing factoid!)
  • Go vegetarian once a week to save water and trees. Why? Because it takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef, and each hamburger raised on rainforest land destroys 55 square feet of forest. (Sad, sad, sad . . .)
  • Everyone knows you should avoid plastic bags in favor of reusable ones. Want the jaw-dropping facts? The U.S. uses 84 BILLION plastic bags a year, and they are NOT biodegradable.
